One of Sony’s new televisons for 2010, the Sony Bravia KDL37EX401U is a 37-inch Full HD 1080p Widescreen LCD TV with an integrated Freeview tuner.
The KDL37EX401U is well worth considering for anyone who feels 32” may be a little too small for a main TV, but yet also thinks a 40” model may look out of place in their living room. As can be expected from all of Sony’s 2010 lineup, the KDL37EX401U has an understated yet quality look and feel which is backed up by a number of impressive features and technologies.
The Bravia Engine 2 (Sony’s picture processing engine), ensures that the picture quality is crisp & clear, and that colours look rich and vibrant. The KDL37EX401U has numerous picture and sound configurations that are geared around watching films and programmes in various formats: 24p True Cinema, Scene Select, and Theatre Mode to name but three. Obviously the sound will be enhanced if you add a home cinema system to the setup but even without one the audio quality of the KDL37EX401U is good.
A couple of other features well worth noting, include the TVs capabilities to show photos, videos, and play music via a USB connection. And it’s ambient light sensor which ensures the picture brightness is optimized in accordance with the lighting of it’s surroundings.
Connectivity speaking, the Sony KDL37EX401U is not wanting. It has an impressive 4 x HDMI inputs, (3 rear, 1 side), PC signal capability, 2 x scart inputs(RGB), a USB socket, 1 x Component inputs, 1 x Composite video in, 3.5mm headphone jack, PCMCIA Card Slot, RCA AV Input, and an RF In slot.
To conclude, the KDL37EX401U would make a great main TV, especially if you have your heart set on a 37” model.
